Asalaam’Alaikum! Welcome to the first post for our Ramadan Collective 2018. Today, I will be sharing 7 duas for you to read during Ramadan, or anytime for that matter, for the sake of marriage. First and foremost, it is important to see the good in everything that happens. Qadr-Allah, or the will of Allah, is revealed in due time. Do not take this time as one of hardship and worry, but rather as a time to become close to Him and to put your total trust in His timing.
“and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allaah knows but you do not know” [al-Baqarah 2:216].
May Allah SWT make your journey easy and reward you for your sabr (patience). Ramadan is the perfect time to pray and remember Allah SWT in solitude. Duas are a powerful tool for the believer, so utilise them and trust that Allah SWT will provide for you, whatever is in your best interest. These 7 duas can be made anytime and anywhere, but in light of Ramadan it is advised that they are made especially at the time of dua before opening your fast. May Allah SWT accept them, reward you for your trust and grant you a God fearing spouse to complete half of your deen, Ameen.
- O Allah, let our marriage be a way for us and our families to enter Jannah.
- O Allah, bless our marriage and let it be a means for us to become closer to You in love and devotion. Let it be a source of untold blessings, happiness and joy. Let us marry for Your sake, to love for Your sake.
- O Allah, give us the love which you had blessed Muhammad, Allah’s Peace and blessings be upon him, and Khadija with, May Allah be pleased with her.
- O Allah, let this marriage bring untold blessings to us individually, to our families, and our children. Allow us to do good for one another, with one another.
- O Allah, protect our marriage from the whisperings of Shaytan. Give us the strength to live together in justice, equity, love and, mercy. Only You can soften our hearts, do not leave us astray.
- O Allah, You are the Loving and the Merciful. Please put love and mercy in our hearts for each other. Allow us to show mercy on one another, for Your sake.
- O Allah, You are the Just. Let us live our lives being fair and just to each other, You are the Forgiving, bless us with the strength to forgive each other’s shortcomings.
Remember there is a sweetness in the sabr, a lesson with every hardship. Making sincere dua is the most powerful way to connect with Allah SWT and to grow trust in Him, through remembrance. Marriage is a big part of anyone’s life and so our next post will be regarding what marriage means for different people. May Allah SWT accept our efforts, Ameen.
